Four Smoothie Recipes Worth Freezing

We just can’t get enough smoothie recipes. They’re simple, they’re healthy (they mask the taste of veggies pretty well), and they can be stored for whenever you want to eat them! Perfect for when you run out of time or ideas for a quick meal. Try these 4 smoothie recipes that can be easily prepped, frozen in a  brand freezer bag and saved for a busy day.

Breakfast-Ready Banana Blueberry Smoothie

Half of this speedy, delicious, protein-packed breakfast is made in the freezer. Yup. Instead of needing ice, this smoothie uses frozen banana and blueberries—frozen fruit makes ice in other smoothie recipes unnecessary, and the smoothie even creamier. Just tuck sliced banana and blueberries in a Ziploc® brand freezer bag and into the freezer until you need them. Then pop open the bag (thanks to easy open tabs), plop a frozen portion into the blender, add the rest of your ingredients and give them a whirl until breakfast is thick and ready to pour.

Ingredients
  • ½cup of blueberries
  • ½Banana, sliced
  • 1Medjool Date, pitted and chopped
  • 1tbsp of oats
  • 1cup of almond milk
  • 1tbsp of almond butter
Directions

MAKE AHEAD:

  • 1.Split a banana and slice, put in two  brand sandwich bags. Add ½ cup of blueberries to each and place bags in freezer for at least four hours.

READY TO EAT:

  • 1.Place frozen, sliced banana and blueberries to blender. Add the date, oats, almond milk and almond butter, and process until creamy and smooth. If smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk.
